What is a Chain Conveyor?

A Chain Conveyor is a type of conveyor system thatuses one or more chains to move loads. The chain is driven by a motor andsprockets, and it can carry heavy loads across horizontal or inclined paths.

Working Principle

• A motor drives a sprocket.
• The sprocket rotates, moving a looped chain.
• The chain pulls or pushes the load or carriers mounted on it.
• Depending on the design, loads may rest directly on the chain or be attached to fixtures.

 Main Components

1. Drive Station Motor, gearbox, and drive sprocket.
2. Idler Station Tensioner and idle sprocket.
3. Conveyor Chain Roller or bush type chain.
4. Track/Guides UHMPE or steel tracks.
5. Supports/Frame Steel or aluminum body.
6. Load Carriers or Fixtures Pallets, slats, pans, hooks, or custom fixtures.
