About Scraper Conveyor

WHAT IS A SCRAPER CONVEYOR?

A Scraper Conveyor (also known as a drag conveyor or slat conveyor) is a mechanical system used for horizontal or inclined transport of bulk materials, chips, swarf, dust, or sludge using scraper blades that drag the material along the bottom of a trough or channel.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

  1. Material (chips, dust, sludge) enters the conveyor trough.
  2. Scraper plates mounted on a chain or shaft move continuously inside a closed or semi-closed channel.
  3. The scrapers drag the material along the bottom surface toward the discharge point.
  4. Material is collected, dumped, or sent to bins, and the chain/scrapers loop back to collect more.
