WHAT IS A SCRAPER CONVEYOR?
A Scraper Conveyor (also known as a drag conveyor or slat conveyor) is a mechanical system used for horizontal or inclined transport of bulk materials, chips, swarf, dust, or sludge using scraper blades that drag the material along the bottom of a trough or channel.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
TYPES OF SCRAPER CONVEYORS
| Type | Description | Application |
| Horizontal Scraper | For floor-mounted horizontal transfer | Chip collection, ETP sludge |
| Inclined Scraper | Moves material at an angle (up to 60 deg ) | Loading into bins, presses |
| U-type/Channel Type | U-trough with chain drag system | Swarf and sludge |
| Flat Bottom Type | Scrapers move over flat bed | Dry chips and dust |
| Heavy-duty Scraper | For high-load handling | Steel plant, furnace slag |
