WHAT IS AN OIL SKIMMER?

An Oil Skimmer is a mechanical separation device used to remove floating oil, grease, or hydrocarbon films from the surface of water, coolants, or other liquids. It helps in extending fluid life, reducing pollution, and preventing bacterial growth in process or wastewater.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

The skimming element (belt, disk, tube, or drum) attracts oil via surface tension and adhesion.
The element rotates or moves through the liquid surface, collecting oil.
Oil is scraped off mechanically and collected in a container.
The remaining clean fluid is returned or discharged.
